History of Georgia and Georgian people has a significant place in the world history. This land was populated from ancient period. People here went a long way to develop the history and culture that we have now. Historical research (archeological research, ethnographic materials) proves that Georgia is an ancient country developing agriculture and livestock, where they cultivated and mastered culture of wine. The first state in this land was built three thousand years ago. Throughout thousands of years Georgians developed highly distinctive culture and from the very beginning found its place in the civilization.
On one side history of Georgia is full of various severe wars, physical and moral tension and deep drama, on the other side it has considerable success, and in particular period of history Georgia is known as a strong and united developed country with education and culture. The life of Georgians, their fights, work and creativity are described in folk songs, rhymes, stories, legends and etc. Stories about Amirani, myth of the Argonauts, legend about finding Tbilisi and many more, true or mythical stories are going from generation to generation. Artefacts (churches, monasteries, castles, ruins, palaces and etc) are telling us a lot about Georgian history, but more sufficient information are mostly from written sources.
Georgia like every country in the whole world has recreated its history so the future generation know where they are coming from.
